RE: What's the status of Pilgrim International?

You can call Pilgrim, and speak to a live person, but dependent on the time of day. They do not know what to say, but it looks like it could be headed for a possible buy out or merger in my opinion. Sure hope they can reopen, even it is with a new owner or not. They make a great product, and should continue on if possible. This is not factual, but my thoughts only. JMHO Earnest

RE: Securing Swivel Rocker Recliners while traveling

We turn our recliners with the backs facing each other. We leave the table where it is, and lay two pillows on the sides of the table along with a piece of foam. We have had no wear or slipping with ours. Earnest

RE: 2nd A/C question

Our Penguin low profile unit controls face the front also. We have a light by the unit, so no problem for us. Sure enjoy the extra ac down here in Texas. Earnest

RE: Hood vent do you have one?

Our Legends fifth wheel has a vent a hood that vents back into the camper. We found it a little odd, as our previous 5er had one that vented out. Called Pilgrim, and they said this particular unit could not vent to the outside due to outside storage behind the stove. We have a remote control Maxxair fan we turn on while using the stove, so it works faily well. Same floor plan in the Hitchiker line does vent to the outside, so I think the design was a little off. RE: Where, in what, how old when you learned to drive

Took driver's ed in the summer of '69, at age 15. Drivers ed car was a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, with a 383 Magnum. We, as teenagers, were amused with the horn that sounded like a roadrunner. Some times, our instructor would let us step on it a little, but not very often. He was one of the coaches, and a great man. Wish I had that car now, as the cars these days in DE are usually very small, and little engines. Earnest

RE: The end of our dream.....

This is certainly sad news. Wife and I will be praying for you and your dh. I retired early a year or two ago (55), but wife if still working a little to max her pension fund. We aren't going to wait very long tough, as we both like to go, and no one knows how long we will live. I know you will cherish the time you did have rv'ing, and you will be in our thoughts. RE: Durango 5th wheels by KZ

Wife and I have not had a Durango, but we had a KZ Sportsmen for 5 years. The only reason we traded it in was for more room and a side aisle bath. We dealt with the company direct on a battery issue that the dealer would not take care of, and within 15 minutes we received a call to bring it in and get a new one. These folks at KZ, IMHO, are great. We would have bought another KZ, but did not have a floor plan the wife liked. Good luck. Earnest

RE: Whining Noise?????????????????

I've had the same thing happen with my 05 Duramax. Have taken it back to the dealer twice, and they cannot find anything wrong. It only does it when I am towing. Also, it seems to only do it when the weather is hot. I am puzzled also. It always calms down, but will run that way for a mile or two. Any one figure this out, please let us know. Thanks, Earnest

RE: Second Air Conditioner before I Melt

"Truth is in Texas, one A/c will only work up to about a 28' RV. Beyond that you need two. It is really stupid on the part of dealer and manufacturers to think that anyone would want to be hot in the Texas summers in an RV." TXiceman: I couldn't have said it better myself. We have a 34' Legends with three slides. The 13.5K bedroom AC justs makes it that much more comfortable. What a difference it makes in Texas. Earnest

RE: Gonna be a daddy!

Wife and I have a son (31), and a daughter (28). We have rv'd since they were babies, and have enjoyed it greatly. They still like to go with us on weekend trips now, and it sure is fun. They are like two best friends. Now, the best part of the whole deal is our daughter and SIL have our first granddaughter, age 3. Now talk about fun, she loves to go in "granny's" camper anytime. We usually take care of her while the rest are fishing or skiing, etc. We love every minute of it, and wish we could go more than we do. Congrats and you will have the same great fun soon with that new little one. Earnest and Nancy

RE: Best way to keep dog close to camp

Last summer, we had a situation at a State Park that could have been disastrous. Our daughter's black lab was with us, tied up on the coated metal cable to a tree. I was working on the fire in the pit getting it ready for the evening cookout. Our neighbor's dog was not on a leash, and decided to check our campsite out. That little dog would have got torn up if I had not been out there by her, as she was in attack mode. The dog continued to walk right up to her. I pulled our lab back by that metal cable away from this dog, as the neighbor came apologizing. I told him I was glad I was out, as the situation would have been different, and to be sure, as State Park rules state, that their dog is on a leash. Next, I put some aloe Vera lotion on my fingers, as they were burned holding that cable to keep her off. . So, sometimes the cables or chains don't do much good if people don't follow the rules of the campground. We always keep her inside most of the time, unless someone is out, but some folks need to keep a better watch on their dogs. Earnest

RE: A Woman`s Issue

Wife and I try to split everthing 50/50. She does take care of all the inside cabinets and kitchen things. I keep up with the outside. We love to rv, and go when we can. Everything works out great for us, as we are a team and get all things done in an orderly manner. Earnest

RE: Digital thermostat????

We have the Dometic 15K AC/HeatPump/Gas Furnace on our Legends 5er. Does anyone know of a digital t-stat that will work on the Dometic unit? I called Dometic, and they said it would have to be re-wired. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Earnest

RE: Thermostat questions

Haulinbass02: We have the Legends 30CK3-SHP with the optional Heat Pump on the main 15K unit. Is your unit the same? This is the Dometic 15K. I have tried to get a digital t-stat that will work with the AC/Furn/Heat Pump, and cannot find one. Called Dometic, and they said the unit was not capable of using one unless you rewired from the unit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Earnest

RE: Adding a second air conditoner

We added the Penguin low profile 13.5 in our bedroom at the time of purchase. It works very well, while lowering the height of the rooftop unit by about 3 and a half inches. Earnest

RE: Goodyear Tires

Just purchased four Goodyear Silent Armour LT tires for the TV made in the USA. Felt good about that, and satisfied so far when them. Glad to avoid the Chinese tires. Earnest

RE: tred-co Freestar (NANKANG) tires on a 2009 bighorn

I had Nankings on a previous fiver, and three tires failed within two years. Usually weekend trips, with no more than a week at a time on trips. Replaced all four with Carlisles, and had no more trouble. I will say Nanking will send you a replacement tire, but that doesn.t help much when you are out in the 100 degree Texas sun changing those tires. Earnest

RE: Has anyone stayed in Albany,Baird, Clyde, TX?

The White's RV park is fairly descent with full hookups. It is on the access road to I-20, south side of the Interstate. Friends of ours stayed there once, and liked it for a short stay. Baird Motel and RV park looks OK from the Interstate. The park is behind the motel. It is on the north access road. Don't know of anyone that has stayed there. Don't know anything about the Albany place. Happy RV'ing, Earnest and Nancy
